In the end i gave up on join this gamejam but i really wanted to try this and its nice... I mean its fun to some extent and its not too long to get annoying. It sure had some space to be improved and i really look toward some next version (if there will be any). Good job on first game jam anyway i just wasnt brave enough to do same so you had my admiration
Thank you so much for your kind words 😊 I definitely plan to keep working on the game, there are a lot of ideas in my head, so hopefully the game will be a bit more fun. If you ever participate in a game jam, I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed and wish you good luck, it's challenging but worth it.
I played your game and as a first Game Jam project, finishing it solo and delivering it on time is already a big achievement. Well done!
Here are a few things I noticed while playing (feel free to take them as feedback too):
I liked the core idea, and it fits the Game Jam theme really well, that's a strong point.
After two or three levels, the gameplay started to feel a bit repetitive. I think it could become more engaging if the player could enter the fake doors, or if the levels had more depth. For example, entering a “secret” door or adding more layers to each level would make the experience richer.
That said, as I mentioned at the beginning, great job overall. For your next game, don’t forget to playtest often, and always ask yourself: - Is this level fun? - Does it introduce a new challenge?
Thank you so much for your feedback. I have a few ideas in my head on how I would like to improve the game, so I will add some modifications when the voting ends. The first modification will be to play the game directly from the itch io site and not have to download anything, next I'll be able to zoom the game to fullscreen and I'd like to add door animations (hopefully that won't be a problem) 😁 Then I have ideas in my head for adding bonus rooms for the "fake" doors. So hopefully I can make the game more fun.
